SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The private key must be stored on a FIPS 140-2 Level 2 or Common Criteria Level 4+ certified device. Entrust tokens meet Level 5 Common Criteria. You can also purchase an HSM device separately.
Requirements to download the certificate:
- Software Token: Provided by Entrust at time of purchase
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 11+
- Microsoft Windows operating system – 7, 8 and 10
- Microsoft Windows Server operating system – 2008, 2012 and 2016
Trust Token Requirements:
- Software Token: Provided by Entrust at time of purchase
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 11+
- Microsoft Windows operating system – 7, 8 and 10
- Microsoft Windows Server operating system – 2008 or 2012
Entrust code signing certificates are X.509 certificates issued by a trusted root for the user to sign the following code:
- Microsoft Authenticode
- Microsoft Windows Kernel Drivers
- Microsoft Marketplace Apps
- Microsoft Office and VBA
- Java Applets
- Adobe Air
- Second European Payment Services Directive (Apple1)
HSM user signing capabilities are based on HSM.
NOTE
All code signing certificates require a software solution or integrated development environment that enables application signing. For example, to sign Microsoft code, it requires a free tool to enable signing (SignTool, VisualBasics, etc.)
